Baghmara College, a Co-educational Institution was established in the year 1979 by the residents of this area ie Baghmara Gram panchayat and its surrounding. Starting from the eighties the College grow on when it started the Degree course in Arts/Commerce/Science with Pass / Honours Classes in the Session 1985-86 and Ultimately it becomes permanently affiliated college under Vinoba Bhave University
Hazaribag and College has been registered Under Section 2 (F) of the U.G.C. act 1956. The College is being governed by G.B. duly constituted by the vice-chancellor V.B.U. Hazaribag & achieves grant in-aid by the Govt. of Jharkhand in the year 2004-05. Since its establishment hundreds of boys and girls have successfully passed through the college. It imparts Inter/Degree (Honours/General) level Teaching in 19 subjects of Arts/Science and Commerce. About 2000 students are admitted to various courses offered by this institution. There are about 35 well-qualified and experienced Teachers involved in teaching and other academic activities.
